3.3 TSW investigate and understand how materials interact with water
Key Ideas include
A- solids and liquids mix with water in different ways
B- many solids dissolve more easily in hot water than in cold water
3.3.q - demonstrate positive ways to communicate with family and friends during group discussion
5-PSI-3 make observations and measurements to identify materials based on their properties
5-PSI-4 conduct an investigation to determine whether the mixing of two or more substances results in new substances
Lesson Objectives
By the end of this lesson, students will be able to:
- Predict and test how materials interact with water
- Observe differences between hot and cold water reactions
- Record findings using simple data charts
- Reflect on the process using science vocabulary
